What does it mean to have a heart that loves like Christ?
You might’ve observed this common phenomenon: when you pray for patience, your patience is tried; when you pray for courage, you have the opportunity to be brave.
The same is true when we pray to learn how to love.
In today’s Gospel, God presents the same invitation to the three travelers: upon seeing the man who “fell victim to robbers,” the Levite pretends not to see him; the Samaritan, however, is “moved with compassion at the sight” (Luke 10:30, 33).
This week, will you watch for God’s invitations to love?
Sometimes, what seems like a detour is exactly where Christ is waiting for you in your neighbor.
