The Old Church is home to the “brown Madonna” that #PierGiorgioFrassati often poured out his heart to in prayer and song.

The Frassati family’s “”home away from home,”” was nestled at the base of mountains in Northern Italy, and now features a replica of the room where he died in Turin. Pilgrims come and leave their prayer intentions for the soon-to-be-Saint!
Fun Fact: Frassati was buried in the town cemetery from 1925-1990 when he body was exhumed and laid to rest in Turin.
📸 4-6📍Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
Home to both the remains of Pier Giorgio and the Shroud of Turin, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is also known as the Duomo. Visitors often find roses and hydrangeas near the tomb of Frassati, along with a floral painting done by his mother, Adelaide Ametis.
📸 7-9📍La Crocetta, or Our Lady of Grace
Located across the street from his family home, La Crocetta is where Pier Giorgio was confirmed. Both a youth area and a small chapel are named in his honor.
📸 10-11📍Santuario della Consolata (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation)
The basilica served as the meeting place for many of Frassati’s appointments to serve the poor with him telling them to “meet me at six o’clock…under the Consolata clock.”

The Convent and Church of St. Dominica is home to the Chapel of Graces where Pier Giorgio took the vows of a third order Dominican (lay Dominican) and chose the name Fra Girolamo Savonarola.
