Help us welcome Father Roger Keeler, JCD, PhD, as our new Chancellor for the Diocese of Beaumont. In addition to being chancellor, he will continue to assist the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal as the Adjutant Judicial Vicar. Father Keeler, a priest of the Archdiocese of Edmonton (Canada), comes to us with a great deal of canonical experience as the Judicial Vicar for the Texas Catholic Conference Appellate Court, then located in San Antonio, the Executive Director of the Canon Law Society of America in Washington, DC, and most recently as professor of Canon Law at the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio. Father Keeler will commence his work as Chancellor on September 1, 2025.
In announcing this, Bishop Toups also thanked Father Ernie Carpio for the work that he has done as Chancellor for the past year and a half while balancing his work as Pastor of St. Henry in Bridge City. Thank you, Father Ernie!
