WELCOME HOME! In the Summer Issue of the Bayou Catholic, we celebrate the reopenings of three of our churches following Hurricane Ida. Each parish’s journey is a story of hope and parishioners who came together and kept the faith.
🙌 Our Lady of the Isle reopened on May 3 after 90 weeks of extensive renovation with a church blessing and altar dedication.
🙌 Holy Family Catholic Church welcomed parishioners back to a fully renovated Church on May 31 with a dedication of the church and altar.
🙌 St. Joseph’s Church in Chauvin reopened for good on February 15 after closing for renovations the summer prior.
As a diocesan family, let us congratulate these parishes and continue supporting all of our communities who are still on their recovery journey. Through God’s grace, we will ALL get there together!
