Beginning at age seven, St. Bridget of Sweden had visions of the crucified Christ, which led her to live a life of charity.
She later had eight children and lived as a penitent after the death of her husband, Swedish king Magnus II. Before his death, he gave her land on which to build a monastery for men and women.
The group later became known as the Bridgetines. #FeastDay
