Today we celebrate the feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Mother and the grandparents of Christ.
There is little known about their lives, but according to early accounts, they were childless and prayed to God for the gift to become parents. An angel visited each of them and foretold of God’s promise of a child.
They are the patron saints of grandparents and couples without children. St. Anne is the patron saint of mothers and women in labor. #FeastDay
