Dio Portland 3 months agoVolunteers at St. Anthony’s Soup Kitchen in Skowhegan, part of Christ the King Parish, got a visit recently from Bishop James Ruggieri. The bishop got a firsthand look at the work being done to ensure community members don’t go hungry. The soup kitchen, which is open on Thursdays and every other Tuesday, serves 150 or more people each week.

Dio Portland 3 months agoGreat job by Knights of Columbus councils around Maine who distributed nearly 1,500 jackets for children as part of the Knights’ Coats for Kids campaign. Leading the pack was Knights Council 101 from Our Lady of Hope Parish in Portland, which dropped off 312 coats to Maine Needs, a nonprofit that serves those facing financial hardship.
