Dio Portland 3 months agoFather Erin Donlon celebrated his first Mass on Sunday, June 1 at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford, part of his hometown parish. Fr. Donlon is co-sponsored by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, and Archbishop Timothy Broglio offered the homily.

Dio Portland 3 months agoBishop James Ruggieri celebrated Baccalaureate Mass the evening before St. Joseph College of Maine’s recent commencement. Concelebrating were Fr. Brad Morin, Fr. Dominic Tumusiime, AJ, Fr. Lou Phillips and Fr. Patrick Finn (college chaplain).

Dio Portland 3 months agoTomorrow morning, three young men will be ordained to the priesthood in our diocese. Deacon Erin Donlon, Deacon Hoa Tien Nguyen, and Deacon Thanh Duc Pham will be ordained at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston at 10:00 AM.

Dio Portland 3 months agoToday, on the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, we celebrate Christ’s bodily ascension into heaven, which occurred in the presence of his apostles. We hear in St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians that Christ took his seat at the right hand of his Father, “far above every principality, authority, power, and dominion.”

Dio Portland 3 months agoBishop James Ruggieri celebrated Mass in honor of Memorial Day this morning in the St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel of the Holy Rosary in Lewiston. The Mass was hosted by Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Auburn and its pastor, Father Robert Lupo. God bless all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
